"In the land of grey and pink" es un trabajo precioso.

The Master's Apprentices - A Toast To Panama

This was the Masters last album before they split in 1972.
Although largely overlooked at the time,
it is seen in retrospect as a highly accomplished work.
In Germany, France,
Holland and Britain it is considered a major Progressive Rock album and a sought after collector's item.

Early 72 the band released 'A Toast To Panama Red' which died without a trace.
It is now hailed as one of Australia's most creative and innovative albums.
A diverse range of styles, instruments,
a choir and unusual vocals mean that it is still eagerly collected in Europe
(Where they are releasing bootleg copies of it).
The money ran out and the band split with Glenn and Jim returning home.

Proof - 5th Anniversary Phonograph Record (1966-71)

Full title - 5th Anniversary Phonograph Record.
A great blues-rock band that, despite a few brushes with fame,
never quite got the attention they deserved.
Perhaps their underexposure was due to the fact that the band's home base of Alaska
was a bit too far off the map for rock critics & record execs of the time.
Had they moved a little further south down the coast,
who knows what would have happened! Led by the talented singer & harmonica player Gary Sloan
(master of the 12 beats & blues collector extraordinaire),
Proof spent the late sixties & early seventies on the fringes of the blues-rock scene,
managing to secure the opening slot at a few Alaskan Jefferson Airplane concerts.
Their second album, as its title suggests,
celebrates the band's 5th year together (1971) & features material that spans the period,
including blues classics 'Hootchie Cootchie Man',
'Leavin' Trunk' & 'Walkin' Blues', & speak volumes on the band's considerable talent.
It is also one of the most rare American blues-rock records
(original copies of their second album are practically nonexistent). Miniature gatefold LP sleeve.

Excellent 2nd album from this1971 Alaskan blues-rock band led by Gary Sloan that celebrated the bands 5th year
together. Great acid blues rock with ripping lead guitar.
Sloan has since worked with Muddy Waters, John Mayall, Jorma Kaukonen, Billy Preston, etc.

Humble Pie - Humble Pie (1970)

Terje Rypdal - Bleak House (1968)

Norwegian jazz guitarist Terje Rypdal's first solo album, Bleak House is generally considered an outlier in his discography. It's a diverse, scatterbrained set of songs, only two of which ("Winter Serenade", "Sonority") are in line with the free-form, ambient jazz that comprises the rest of his discography. Otherwise, there's some post-bop ("Wes"), a big-band workout ("Bleak House"), a spine-tingling, vocal-driven, psych-tinged blues number ("Dead Man's Tale"), and a low-key, acoustic outro that reminds me of Milton Nascimento. I would say that it's not the best intro to Rypdal, but it was the first Rypdal record that I heard, and I eventually collected his entire catalogue, so...

Phenomenal debut album from this innovative group, whose members included, at the time, guitarist Ralph Towner, bassist Glen Moore, oboist Paul McCandless, and multi-instrumentalist Collin Walcott. Kauffman & Caboor - Songs from Suicide Bridge

Despite the release year, this is excellent early '70s-sounding melancholic drifter folkrock from California. The top tracks are outstanding and all over this is an above average album that has gained many fans in recent years.Beautiful textured gatefold cover. Will be in the next Acid Archives.
KAUFMANN & CABOOR made 2 more albums under the name DROVERS.

Very dark and mysterious stoner/loner acid folk LP from this duo of singer-songwriter-guitarists. Instrumentation includes acoustic, electric, slide and steel guitars, mandolin, dulcimer, piano and bass. There are several bursts of psych guitar woven into the compositions.

The epic "Life and Times on the Beach" makes Lou Reed's Berlin or John Cale's Music for a New Society sound like a day at the beach.

from what little exists on the web about this LP:

"Excellent Folk Duo. Really A Very Special LP Filled With A Dark And Desperate Sense Of Urgency And Melancholy, Some Burning Electric Guitar Parts Here And There To Heighten The Intensity. A Very Unique And Brilliant LP!!! Very Highly Recommended!!!!"

Carm Mascarenhas - Someday Soon (1975)

Rare Canadian-only private press folk-psych w/ heavy vibes and terrific musicianship/performance. Reminiscent of Van Morrison’s more cosmic work in places or even a hippie Ron Baumber. Underated and highly recommended.

Much sought after after album by Canadian singer songwriter Carm Mascarenhas released privately in 1975. Strong Van Morrisonic music style with cosmic and psychedelic approaches in most of the tracks. One of the underrated private releases of the 70's!

Rontheo - Rontheo 1976

German folk rock that mainly consist of acoustic guitar, violin, and percussion. This is very "American" sounding singer/songwriter stuff with pleasant English vocals. Do NOT expect something that sounds like Brosselmachine, or like Emtidi, or like Witthueser & Westrupp, because This is not really "psychedelic", or "cosmic" at all (even though it is often passed off as progressive folk, or acid folk). With all that being said, there are plenty of very good passages with excellent violin. The strongest material is towards the end, when the music does get a little more progressive at times, with some excellent guitar, beautiful choral arrangements (played on a keyboard choir setting) and extended violin jamming. All-in-all, a pleasant listen, but one can tell why it is not quite up there with the classics of the German folk rock scene of the 70's.

he name of this group comes from the first components blocks: RONNIE DI TOMASO (guitar, voice) and THEO BUSCH (violin, percussions). With their friend YEDZ they recorded this good LP in Germany in 1976... it's fresh folk rock, sung in English, and as usual many sellers consider it as psychedelic folk rock (maybe to sell it at a better price), anyway this is another little jewel coming from Germany and its value is growing day by day (400 US Dollars)... the gatefold cover is also great with a beautiful fantasy design...

This German band brings a surprising well crafted USA or British folk rock, or German why not?.
Voice of singer Ronnie di Tomaso add lots to the general pleasant ambience created by this musicians, emotive and inspired singing.
There are beautifully arranged song like the instrumental By the Side of a Clear Crystal Fountain where violin plays a principal role.
In general this almost unknown band, which falls into the never ending genre of "obscure bands", brings a delicate folk rock, pleasant and appealing.
Bravo Mr. di Tomaso and Busch, Ron Theo, unfortunately by the year this album was recorded (1976) nobody catch their wonderful project.

Ray Materick - Sidestreets

Ray Materick is the son of an evangelical preacher, who had previously played saxophone, trumpet and clarinet in his own dance band, during the 1940s and 1950s. Materick's recording career commenced in 1972, with the release of Sidestreets on Kanata Records, considered to be one of Canada's first independent record labels.[1] The label folded soon after Materick's album was released. His major national breakthrough came with the release of Neon Rain in 1974 on Warner Bros./Asylum Records, featuring the hit single "Linda Put The Coffee On". The album was produced by Eugene Martynec. Materick had been specifically signed by record executive Gary Muth as one of the first Canadian artists on the U.S. Asylum Records label, formed by David Geffen. A number of albums followed throughout the 1970s: Best Friend Overnight (1975) and Midnight Matinee (1976), both of which were produced by Don Potter and featured musical contributions from Daniel Lanois, as well as Fever In Rio (1978). Materick did not continue with Asylum Records, following the release of Midnight Matinee.

During the 1980s, Materick withdrew from music for a period of approximately eight years, assuming employment in a Toronto woodworking company. He later relocated to Hamilton, Ontario.

Materick returned to recording as of 2000, releasing seven albums of new material in two years, and has regularly released new material and compilations since that time. The majority of Materick's later releases have been on his own label, King Kong Records.

In 2012, Materick was subject to two tribute concerts, in Toronto and Hamilton, respectively, by "Honouring Our Own", an organization dedicated to honouring musicians, while living, who have made a lifelong contribution to Canadian music.

Philip John Lewin - Diamond Love and Other Realities (1976)

..The a-side here is late-nite loungey 70s SSW fare with a jazzy/funky flare done to perfection. in some strange time-space filter it comes out sounding vividly real vs. dated/cheesy. He lets the tracks really drift... i haven't heard alot of stuff like this. Side 2 is a bit folkier - A Friend of Mine / Hanging Around Waiting are both shorter songs in a Dylan-ish angry folk mold and kinda of break the spell you're under after the stoney looseness that leads up to it. He gets back to it on "Other Realities" and "Drummers Lament" and over-all its a pretty spooky record. The guy is definitely a head, and definitely a weird cat and I really dig where he took this ethereal midnight spaced lounge jazz stuff. Like Justen O'Brien + Jake it quickly becomes a much heavier record than you had initially imagined... Toni, the gal vocalist is fabulously cool and lets notes go flat and plays it stoned natural realness. Like tripping with your middle aged neighbor after he's been through a divorce. Mature and sensitive but still pretty weird....Most unusual and relaxed but twilight zone mix of smooth but not slick lounge jazzy sounds with off key at times vocal, female voice weaving through, cool organ that gets mystical, the opening track "Fear Of Flying: is particularly eerie. Like a soak in a surreal hot tub. Private pressing on Gargoyle records from Canada. Mentioned in Acid Archives.

Supay – El Viaje 2007

Peter Hammill & Gary Lucas – Other World (2014)

Van der Graaf Generator frontman Peter Hammill and former Captain Beefheart’s Magic Band guitarist Gary Lucas are gearing up for the launch of a collaborative album entitled Other World, which they describe as “warped folk music.” View their trailer video below.

The 14-track record will appear on February 3 via Esoteric Recordings – and comes 40 years after the pair first met.
Hammill explains how they started work in 2012: “We didn’t exactly have a grand plan about what we were about to attempt. He told me he had pieces which might be worth working on, and I’d prepared some looped pieces. We probably thought we’d have done well if we managed to get an EP out of the session.”
But he continues: “From the first note it became clear we were on exactly the same wavelength, and after a couple of days we knew we had the makings of an album. We’ve ended up with something quite strange but strangely powerful.”
American-born Lucas, who’d always had an interest in English prog music, admits he bought VdGG’s 1969 album The Aerosol Grey Machine solely because of its artwork. But he adds: “I fell in love with it and played it to death for my radio show listeners and my friends.” He took advantage of a working trip to Europe in 1973 to visit the UK and caught Hammill’s solo show in Aylesbury, supported by Phil Collins and Peter Banks in Zox And The Radar Boys.
The pair became friends, and Lucas returned to the UK for VdGG’s reunion show in London in 2005. The rekindling of their friendship led, at long last, to Other World. Lucas reports: “Having worked closely with many great artists and vocalists including Don Van Vilet and Jeff Buckley, I can say Peter is right up there as a creative partner and collaborator. The result to my ears is –– well, just listen for yourself!”

Panic Room – Incarnate (2014)

Featuring ten breathtaking and original new tracks, 'Incarnate' will hook you from its
very first breath... and open up a new world of beauty, power, depth and imagination.
As the title track says : "
the sunrise is an omen.. of a truth we may find".

'Incarnate' is a journey from the darkest to the most euphoric of human emotions -
all envisaged through the burning musical heart which Panic Room always wear on their sleeve.
The songs within this new creation are seeking to explore many themes...
New beginnings, new travels, love, obsession, loss and fear;  and the sense that even in our most broken moments, there is a bigger world outside which will humble us, and bring us back to inspiration.

Recorded at Sonic One Studios in South Wales, the band were proud to work once again with their trusted engineer Tim Hamill - the 'hands and ears' behind the critically-acclaimed sound on Panic Room's previous albums :  Visionary Position (2008),  Satellite (2010), and  S K I N (2012).

Combining the band's sonic vision with the very best engineers in the business (including final album -mastering with Jon Astley at Close to the Edge),
the talented PANIC ROOM team have created an album which will blow you away on first listen...
Then burn its way into your heart and stay with you forever.

ESTRADA NAGRANIA: Fonoteka 2

Polskie Radio często prezentuje obszerne relacje z owych przesłuchań, tak więc i my postanowiliśmy przedstawić państwu najciekawsze według nas nagrania.

ESTRADA NAGRANIA: Fonoteka 1
