Pink Floyd-High Hopes
Beyond the horizon of the place we lived when we were young
In a world of magnets and miracles
Our thoughts strayed constantly and without boundary
The ringing of the division bell had begun
Along the Long Road and on down the Causeway
Do they still meet there by the Cut
There was a ragged band that followed in our footsteps
Running before time took our dreams away
Leaving the myriad small creatures trying to tie us to the ground
To a life consumed by slow decay
The grass was greener
The light was brighter
With friends surrounded
The night of wonder
Looking beyond the embers of bridges glowing behind us
To a glimpse of how green it was on the other side
Steps taken forwards but sleepwalking back again
Dragged by the force of some inner tide
At a higher altitude with flag unfurled

On the day the wall came down
They threw the locks onto the ground
And with glasses high we raised a cry for freedom had arrived

The Flaming Lips-Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots-2002
Ya conocen a esta banda americana de la ciudad de Oklahoma, THE FLAMING LIPS formados en 1983, pasando varios músicos por toda su carrera música.
Hay muchas versiones sobre este disco...
El disco es ( o trata ser) una obra conceptual donde se narra la historia de Yoshimi, una japonesa que estando en coma, viaja a un mundo paralelo el cual tiene que defender de los robots rosas que pretenden acabar con todo.
Conforme transcurre la historia Yoshimi termina enamorada de uno de ellos y ya nunca regresa a nuestro mundo.
Yo tampoco sé de cual fumaron, pero este es un discazo, que empieza con canciones suaves, algunas muy pegajosas, otras díficiles de digerir, pero todas muy buenas y que mantienen un mismo estilo de principio a fin.
Las bases son armonías de sintetizadores, una guitarra acústica con el ritmo, un bajo que marca las bases con unos adornos muy bien planeados y efectuados.
Lo único que se puede objetar es que hay momentos donde se pierden los enlaces de tema entre canción y canción... pero pues es un disco conceptual!!!

The Division Bell...
Ultimo album de la gloriosa y mitica banda... PINK FLOYD... con un sonido mas nuevo y actualizado a 1994... pero sin dejar atras los clasicos sonidos rosados... con grandes solos y cosmicos ambientes en cada track un album que te lleva de la mano por los caminos oscuros del alma hasta descubrirte a ti mismo en cada nota en cada riff... un album muy llevadero altamente recomendado...
